SUMMARY:
**This position is for a Quality Engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment comprised of Metal Stamping and Welding and Assembly operations. It is important for the successful candidate to have significant (3-5 years) experience in a similar manufacturing environment.**
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Own development and periodic updates/ review of Quality documentation including Process-flows/ PFMEA/ Control Plan for the designated programs
- Investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
- Manage all phases of the CAPA process for specific events, including but not limited to 8D documentation, reviewing control plan/ PFMEA/ process flow and WIs
- Directs technicians engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Posses a working knowledge of DIS/ PC-DMS systems. Must be able to interpret dimensional reports and make engineering decisions based on the dimensional data.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- Act as an interface to solve top quality issues between the organization’s plants.
- Leads continuous improvement teams as required.
- Travel to support domestic and international customers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
