About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet customer requirements and quality standards in a fast-paced automotive manafacturing environment. You will work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to identify improvement opportunities, resolve quality concerns, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and disposition customer returns while ensuring timely documentation and resolution.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities (CAPA) for internal and customer quality concerns.
- Prepare and present monthly quality performance reports, including PPM metrics.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry standards.
- Perform audits of Control Plans, Inspection Standards, and FMEAs to verify effectiveness and accuracy.
- Serve as a customer contact for quality-related meetings, planning activities, and documentation.
- Partner with production teams to resolve manufacturing quality issues and improve product performance.
- Support warranty analysis and corrective action investigations.
- Create and maintain inspection standards and address service-part quality concerns.
- Facilitate daily quality review and problem-solving meetings.
- Lead scrap reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support laboratory testing activities and assist with technical quality evaluations as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product design, manufacturability, and defect prevention.
- Champion Kaizen and continuous improvement activities throughout the plant.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field and at least 1 year of related experience; OR
- Associate degree and 3+ years of related experience; OR
- High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant quality experience.
- Experience with Tier 1 automotive suppliers and new vehicle program launches is highly preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, SPC, and Six Sigma.
- Experience with quality tools including 8D, Fishbone, FMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
- Experience with gauges, measurement systems, and gauge development.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and collaborate across teams.
