Position Overview

DT Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will monitor and test product quality, ensure compliance with industry standards, identify issues, and recommend solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and contribute to delivering high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, inspection methods, and process standards.

· Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.

· Investigate nonconforming products, customer concerns, and process failures using root cause analysis methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA, or 8D methods

· Lead or support corrective and preventive action activities to reduce defects, scrap and rework.

· Analyze quality data, trends, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

· Support new product launches, process changes, PPAP/APQP activities, control plans, and validation requirements as applicable.

· Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and process audits to verify compliance with quality management system requirements.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, suppliers, and customers.

· Maintain accurate quality documentation, records, reports, and training materials.

· Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, statistical process control, and other quality engineering tools.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

· Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or process improvement a plus.

· Working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or related standards as applicable.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and inspection requirements, GDT a plus.

· Knowledge of quality tools such as AIAG Standards FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, control plans, capability studies, and corrective action process a must.

· Strong analytical, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Problem Solving methodology certification and ISO internal auditor training a plus.

· Experience with customer quality systems, supplier development, layered process audits, Gauge R&R studies, along with Capability Studies.

· Automotive, aerospace, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing experience, also a plus.

· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional improvement projects and communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.

Success Measures

· Reduction in defects, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.

· Improved process capability, audit performance, and on-time completion of corrective actions.

· Accurate and timely quality reporting, documentation, and launch support.

· Strong collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers to prevent quality issues.

Physical & Working Conditions In this role, you will need to have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. There is the possibility of frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The work environment includes both climate-controlled office space and manufacturing floor exposure. Manufacturing conditions may include temperature extremes, dust, fumes, high noise levels, and exposure to hazardous materials such as plastic and metal shavings, lubricants, coolants, and cleaning solutions.
