Lake Engineering is currently seeking a Quality Process Engineer to provide technical guidance, measurement methodologies, and problem-solving support for manufacturing. Our company is a proven Tier 1 / Tier 2 supplier to major OEM aerospace customers, specializing in short-run production of complicated and high-value castings, thin-walled parts, and hog-outs.
Quality Process Engineer Job Summary
The role will be responsible for the definition, implementation, and improvement of quality-related practices and procedures for the organization, while working closely with employees and suppliers to ensure products and processes meet specifications and standards. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot inspection problems
Create quality documentation
Problem Solving
Quality Improvement
Interface with Customers
Interface with Suppliers
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient with mechanical inspection equipment
Broad and deep knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques
Able to provide technical feedback to machine operators
Solid foundation with inspection lab and calibration protocols
Relevant industry quality experience
Skilled at print reading (GD&T)
Knowledge of precision machining processes and practices
Excellent problem-solving skills
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Background with modern machining technology
Degree in a technical field
CMM (PCDMIS) and Vision (Keyence) programming experience
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FAI
Understanding of data analysis and statistics
Proficiency with Quality Management Systems (AS 9100, ISO 9001)
Skill with interpreting industry standards (Aerospace, MIL, SAE, AMS, ASTM, Govt.)
