Our oil and gas client is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join their team. This contract-to-hire position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and a strong background in Java-based testing frameworks. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of software quality, performance, and reliability. This position is open to candidates currently residing in Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright Java API, Java, TestNG, and Extent Reports to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Test Framework Development: Enhance and extend automation test frameworks using Maven, TestNG, and Java.

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Docker, Selenium, and GitHub to enable efficient deployment and testing processes.

Database Testing: Perform SQL-based testing to verify data integrity, queries, and database operations.

Cloud Testing: Work with AWS to ensure that applications function as expected in cloud environments, including load testing, scalability, and performance.

Cross-Browser Testing: Conduct cross-browser testing using Chrome Browser to validate application compatibility and performance across different platforms.

Reporting: Utilize Extent Reports to generate comprehensive and detailed test reports for stakeholders.

Version Control: Manage code and test scripts within GitHub, adhering to best practices for version control and collaboration.

Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure high-quality software releases.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in Java and Playwright Java API for automated test development.

Strong proficiency in TestNG and Extent Reports for test reporting.

Expertise in Maven for managing dependencies and build processes.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly in Docker and Selenium.

Solid SQL knowledge for database testing, including writing and executing complex queries.

Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS.

Familiarity with JSON for working with REST APIs and data validation.

Strong experience with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

Knowledge of browser testing and ensuring cross-browser compatibility, especially with Chrome Browser.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with performance testing tools and techniques.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Knowledge of the oil and gas industry or related sectors is a plus.
