Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to support a portfolio of leading consumer product brands and innovative product lines. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Product Development, Design, Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development through launch and post-market support.
As a key member of the Quality Engineering team, you will help drive decisions related to product quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and reliability while ensuring products meet consumer expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Product Quality & Engineering
- Participate in product concept and design reviews, providing expertise on quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop, maintain, and improve product, engineering, and manufacturing standards using consumer insights and sound engineering principles.
- Create and maintain product specifications related to performance, quality, and safety requirements.
- Interpret and communicate applicable consumer product regulations and compliance requirements.
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Evaluate and mitigate product quality and safety risks.
- Investigate product defects, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with manufacturing suppliers and global teams to resolve quality issues effectively.
- Utilize engineering tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, risk analysis, statistical analysis, and related methodologies to support decision-making.
Project Leadership
- Manage multiple quality initiatives and product development projects simultaneously.
- Lead cross-functional projects that impact multiple departments and business functions.
- Support new product categories and innovative technologies through research and technical evaluation.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members when needed.
Global Collaboration
- Coordinate with international manufacturing, quality, and product development teams across multiple time zones.
- Support pre-production validation activities and address post-launch quality concerns.
- Travel periodically to manufacturing facilities and global development locations as required.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in product development, product engineering, quality engineering, or consumer products manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting products through the complete development lifecycle from concept to production.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of consumer product safety and regulatory standards, preferably related to toys, children’s products, or consumer goods.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including:
- Plastic molding
- Metal forming
- Electronic assembly
- Sewing and soft goods manufacturing
- Factory and consumer assembly processes
- Experience with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with digital modeling review and product analysis tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to make sound decisions independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Experience presenting technical findings and recommendations to support business decisions.
