Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing process and product data, identifying quality issues, and driving systemic improvements. This position supports root cause analysis, control plan development, and process validation. The role collaborates with Production, Engineering, and the Lab to ensure consistent product performance and compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and DMAIC.
Facilitate process improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap and increasing yield.
Conduct process capability studies, MSA, and gage R&R.
Support APQP, PPAP, and control plan creation for new and existing products.
Work closely with the lab to interpret test results and apply findings to improve processes.
Assist in complaint investigations and customer returns.
Identify quality trends and implement preventative actions.
Provide support during audits and customer visits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering.
Minimum 3+ years in a quality engineering role, preferably in rubber or polymer manufacturing.
Strong analytical and statistical skills; experience with Minitab or similar tools.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, and SPC.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices in manufacturing.
Ability to lead change and influence others toward adopting Lean and quality improvement practices.
