Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer (L4) with a strong background in validating cloud-native data pipelines and distributed systems on AWS and big data platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in automation testing for ETL workflows, APIs, and data quality using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement automated testing strategies for complex, cloud-based data pipelines.
Validate data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across distributed systems.
Develop and execute test plans for ETL processes and data APIs using tools like PyTest and Postman.
Leverage Spark testing libraries for validating large-scale data processing jobs.
Collaborate with DevOps and Data Engineering teams to ensure end-to-end quality in CI/CD pipelines.
Proactively identify performance, scalability, and security issues in cloud deployments.
Ensure compliance with data governance and security best practices throughout the testing lifecycle.
Required Skills:
7+ years of experience in quality engineering or software testing.
Proven experience in cloud platforms, especially AWS (S3, EMR, Lambda, Glue, etc.).
Strong proficiency in Python and testing frameworks such as PyTest.
Experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured.
Knowledge of big data technologies including Apache Spark and distributed data systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices in cloud environments.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred:
Exposure to data quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Deequ).
Experience with security and compliance testing for data workloads.
Working knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake).
