Senior Or Principal Or Staff Quality Engineer – Wireless Compliance
We are partnering with a world-class leader in geospatial and surveying technology, celebrated for its precision instruments and innovative solutions. From state-of-the-art total stations to advanced laser scanning systems, they enable professionals across the globe to harness spatial data with unparalleled accuracy, driving progress and innovation in the industry.
Our client is seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead wireless product compliance efforts for Geomatics products, ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards. This pivotal role focuses on managing certification processes, defining regulatory strategies, and upholding compliance standards for seamless product distribution worldwide.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Global Regulatory Expertise:
Build extensive knowledge of wireless product compliance requirements, including safety standards, functional safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) norms.
Stay updated on directives and regulations such as FCC (USA), PSE (Japan), and carrier compliance standards across regions like the EU, USA, Japan, South Korea, China, and Australia.
Analyze regulatory changes and ensure alignment with product compliance strategies.
Product Certification Management:
Lead certification processes for wireless products, coordinating with internal teams and external laboratories to achieve compliance in key markets.
Ensure regulatory requirements are integrated during product innovation and development phases to maintain smooth compliance.
Technical Documentation for Compliance:
Identify regulatory standards and certifications required for wireless products during development stages.
Build, update, and maintain technical files to support product certifications, ensuring these include necessary documentation for new functionalities or design changes.
Internal Support and Knowledge Transfer:
Provide compliance training and technical support to R&D, Quality Engineering, and Product Management teams.
Collaborate with the lifecycle (LC) project teams to address wireless product compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish relationships with regulatory bodies, compliance experts, and industry committees to stay informed on wireless regulations and standards.
Actively participate in regional and international committees to represent the client’s interests and contribute to the evolution of wireless compliance standards.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s or Post-graduate degree in Electronics Engineering, with specialization in wireless technologies, radio frequency, or telecommunications.
8–10 years of experience in wireless product compliance, certification processes, or regulatory engagement; laboratory experience is advantageous.
Proficient in English and Mandarin to collaborate effectively with global and mandarin speaking stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting and applying wireless regulations.
