Pay: $20-$21.50
Schedule: M-F 6am-2:30pm and 2:30pm-10:30pm – Weekends / OT as needed.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector with a strong background in mechanical and dimensional inspection. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced with a wide range of inspection tools and technologies. Proficiency in blueprint reading, understanding of GD&T, and experience with quality documentation standards such as First Article Inspections (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and dimensional inspections of precision parts using various manual and digital inspection tools.
Efficiently set up and execute inspections using:
Calipers
Micrometers
Pin Gages
Height Gages
Radius Gages
Thread Gages
Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM); experience with Verisurf and CMM programming is a strong plus.
Utilize 3D scanning technology and portable CMM arms (Faro/Romer) for part inspection and reverse engineering tasks.
Interpret complex blueprints, including linear dimensions and tolerances; apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Prepare inspection documentation including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and PPAP documentation in accordance with customer and industry standards.
Work closely with engineering and production to resolve non-conformances and provide feedback on quality trends.
Maintain inspection records and ensure compliance with internal and customer quality requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in mechanical inspection or quality assurance in a -manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment.
Strong understanding of dimensional inspection methods and manual metrology tools.
Proven experience with CMM operation and programming; Verisurf experience is a plus.
Experience with Faro or Romer arms, 3D scanning, and reverse engineering tools is highly desirable.
Proficient in blueprint reading and basic to intermediate understanding of GD&T; advanced GD&T knowledge preferred.
Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection and PPAP documentation processes.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
GD&T Certification (ASME Y14.5)
CMM Programming Certification
Verisurf Training/Certification
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent
