DESCRIPTION:
As a Quality Manager, you will oversee the ISO 9000 System and act as ISO Representative. You will lead, initiate, support and sustain change. You will perform a variety of duties related to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment supporting the Quality Management System (QMS). You will perform analytical process steps described in the Quality Management System and provide feedback to ensure Continuous Process Improvement. You will be responsible for PPAP’s and First Article Inspection and sign-off processes, CAR System, Calibration System, Gage R&R if/when applicable. You will manage and direct Quality Inspectors. Develop and maintain departmental Metrics. Other responsibilities may be assigned. You will work independently. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Hire, train, mentor and supervise Quality Employees and conduct Performance Reviews.
Be part of the Upper Management Team and be instrumental in achieving its’ targets and budgets.
Ensure the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, Visual Aids, Customer Specifications, 8 D Reports, ISO Certifications, Audit Reports comply with ISO Requirements.
Drive Continuous Improvement Programs through to being fully embedded within the Quality Department.
Act as ISO Representative, coordinate on-going Third Party ISO Certification processes by scheduling Audits with accredited bodies to maintain product conformity in accordance with Certification requirements.
Ensure all elements of the ISO System is audited internally, annually, as scheduled.
Ensure Management Review Meetings are held annually, as a minimum.
Work within and be party to creating an agreed budget for the company and the quality department.
Collect/analyze quality data and investigate non-conformance Root Cause to determine permanent resolution.
Measure performance against existing metrics and support the development of future metrics in line with business objectives, reporting department status on a monthly basis.
Perform short-term Quality activities such as respond to requests for print interpretation, deviation requests, ECNs, inspection methods, etc.
Responsible for the measurement, monitoring and auditing, if required of suppliers.
Assist Purchasing Manager and Customer Service with determining and maintaining Approved Supplier List “ASL”.
Responsible for the solution of Customer Quality Issues to customer’s satisfaction.
Responsible for the development, maintenance and coordinate training of procedures/working instructions in line with Quality Objectives and ensuring they are adhered to.
Oversee the CAR System: Implement CAR, CCN, SCAR, PAR – ensuring Root Cause Analysis is identified and issues resolved, and ensure timely closure of non-conformances.
Assist Manufacturing and Warehouse Manages to develop personal learning and development opportunities for production employees.
Oversee the Calibration System to ensure compliance of equipment and document results with established requirements.
Comply with all appropriate Quality Standards and fully support the ISO Program.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination and Standard Work.
Comply with OSHA Requirements, Safety, Good Housekeeping and 5S Policies and Procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications:
Must comply with all appropriate Quality and Customer Standards and fully support the ISO Program.
Must comply with Safety Policies and Procedures.
Two year Degree, 3 years in Sheet Metal Fabrication as a Quality Manager or a combination of Education and Experience.
Creative and analytical thinker.
Strong ISO 9000 knowledge and experience including experience in standard work development, procedures and work instructions.
Strong Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) experience and strong methodological approach to Problem Solving
Proficient in using measuring equipment such as Vernier, Dial and Digital Calipers, Micrometer, Pin Gages, Squares and etc.
Good eye for detail.
Possess superior communication abilities and be comfortable training and mentoring others.
Strong knowledge of shop mathematic.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret Blueprints and/or Customer/Product Specifications.
Must be able to hold a tolerance of +/- .005.
Requires lifting sheet metal parts up to 50 lbs. and up to 96” frequently.
Requires sitting, walking, standing bending, twisting and constant usage of hands.
Ability to work OT when required including week-ends.
Desired Qualifications:
Four year Degree and 5 years in Sheet Metal Fabrication as a Quality Manager.
Experience in Lean manufacturing (Kaizen & 5S).
