Quality Engineer (m/w/d)

Location: Raron, Valais, Switzerland

Contract Type: Temporary (12-Month Contract with extension possibility)

Working Hours: 40 hours/week

About the Role: Are you a hands-on technical professional looking to make an impact in a global manufacturing environment? We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our client's team in Raron.

Whether you hold a degree in engineering or you have completed a strong technical apprenticeship (e.g., Polymechaniker, Maschinenbautechniker) with a passion for quality, we want to hear from you. If you understand mechanics deeply and can seamlessly read technical drawings, this is your opportunity to drive quality in a highly regulated, dynamic production setting.

What You Will Do:

  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Support the NPI team by participating in design transfer meetings and contributing to the DFMEA.
  • Inspection & Measurement: Translate design inputs into actionable test plans (CTQ cascading) and develop suitable measurement systems (gauges/test equipment) for the production floor.
  • Validation & Analytics: Plan and execute Test Method Validations (TMV). Collect data and perform statistical analyses to characterize and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Process Optimization: Actively collaborate on engineering projects to automate and optimize standard manufacturing techniques.
  • Control Plans & Risk: Create and maintain detailed Control Plans based on product classification and defect frequencies. Review production risk management documentation.
  • Reporting: Prepare accurate reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

Your Profile (The "Must-Haves"):

  • Education & Experience: A solid technical background. This can be a University Degree in Mechanical/Medical Engineering, OR a completed technical apprenticeship (e.g., Polymechaniker) with relevant experience. At least 1 year of experience (including hands-on internships) in a manufacturing environment is required (MedTech, Pharma, or Automotive preferred).
  • Mechanical Expertise: You have a strong foundational understanding of mechanics and the proven ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical drawings.
  • Languages: Fluent German is an absolute must to communicate effectively with shop-floor operators, combined with Fluent English for global engineering documentation.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical mindset to handle data and numerical trends. Proficiency in MS Office is required; knowledge of Agile, Windchill, or statistical software (e.g., Minitab) is a strong plus.

Your Mindset & Working Style:

  • Hands-on & Present: You thrive on the shop floor and are committed to working on-site in Raron.
  • Proactive & Resilient: You have a positive, independent approach and the resilience to tackle business and technical challenges head-on.
  • Clear Communicator: You can adapt your communication style, translating complex engineering issues into simple, actionable solutions for operators and management alike.
  • Organized: You are disciplined in planning, time management, and executing moderately complex engineering tasks with high precision.
