Location: Mossville, IL- both 100% onsite (preference first goes to local candidates, open to non-local candidates who can 100% relocate 2 weeks from offer and be onsite day 1 at their own cost)

Type: Contract

Pay: range $33/hour on w2- no flex, exact rate

Length: 24 months- possibility to extend

Screenings: no tech, full panel drug and background once hired

+optional benefits, long term contract with ability to extend

Must haves:

Education & Experience Required:

  • Years of experience: 0-2 years
  • Degree requirement: BS in Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering from accredited university – ONLY THESE SPECIFC degree’s=NO 2 year degrees
  • Open to Master’s – only the listed degrees
  • Failure analysis
  • Ferrous metallurgy

Job Description: Summary:

The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

• Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

• May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.

• May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.

Skills:

• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.

• Team player and detail oriented.

• Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.

• Basic experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Typical task breakdown:

  • Receive client request and document as-received
  • Enter work order and work with technicians to complete work
  • Create report with appropriate conclusions
  • Validate with senior staff

Interaction with team:

  • Daily interaction with both colleagues and technicians to successfully complete work requests

Team Structure

  • Manager and team lead, along with senior staff provides support to less experienced engineers

Work environment:

  • 50/50 shop/lab and office environment
