Your new company
Opportunity to join a leading global defence business in the Supplier Quality Engineering space. This is a brand-new position working across supplier quality and auditing in the defence space. You will be working with an amazing, close-knit team who really value personal growth and opportunities. You will gain exposure to key stakeholders and work alongside senior level management to manage supplier quality and auditing. The position requires someone with excellent stakeholder engagement, great communication and a confident-can-do attitude. The role does require regular travel due to site visits with suppliers for the first number of months.
Key Responsibilities:
On-site quality audits and managing suppliers as well as supplier expectations.
Develop and maintain audit programs that support compliance and management of suppliers
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality, safety and risk issues
Collaborate with business units and departments to develop and implement safety and quality improvement initiatives.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators for safety, quality and risk metrics.
Train and mentor members of the safety and quality support team
Oversee client feedback and complaints, incident and hazard notifications
What you’ll need to succeed
Formal qualification in Engineering
Proven experience in the management of small teams and interfacing with company senior management.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and practices.
Strong understanding of quality and safety certification standards and systems such as ISO9001, AS9100 and other relevant aerospace standards.
Australian Citizenship is essential as well as ITAR compliance.
Previous experience in defence or aviation is desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Open to travel (initial requirement not long term)
