Position Title: Quality Control Specialist

Compensation: $ 27.00 – $35.72
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Specialist (QCS), under the direction of the Compliance Manager, is responsible for conducting thorough and ongoing reviews of critical documents, reports and core system entries to ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures as well as state and federal rules and regulations. Under minimal supervision, this role will ensure the integrity of credit union processes and procedures and work to identify trends or deficiencies that require corrective action. The QCS will work with other credit union departments to rectify any deficiencies identified.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform various quality control reviews on critical documents, reports and core system entries to ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures as well as state and federal rules and regulations.
Utilize checklists and spreadsheets to document and track all reviews performed as well as all corrections and other deficiencies identified during the course of quality control reviews.
Compile and present reports to management regarding any findings on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis as required, escalating high risk items to management immediately.
Conduct a thorough review of the following (this list is not exhaustive and may change over time based on the credit union needs, audit findings and management requests):
New, closed and dormant accounts
Insider accounts (Employee and Volunteer accounts)
Loan applications and documentation
Supervisory overrides
Wire transactions
File maintenance, Certificate of deposit (CD) and Excessive check deposit reports
ACH and debit disputes
Identify and report deficiencies or discrepancies to department leaders and Compliance Manager.
Maintain up to date knowledge of internal credit union policies and procedures and of applicable state and federal regulations.
May assist in preparing reports for senior management, regulatory exams or internal and external audits.
May assist with updating internal policies and procedures.
May serve as a backup to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Specialist.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of branch operations and an understanding of loan practices.
Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Elder Abuse prevention guidelines, and associated reporting requirements.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically excel and word.
Ability to learn and control software systems utilized by the credit union.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and member service skills.
Meticulous with analytical aptitude.
Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, an initiative-taker.
Ability to analyze, investigate, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1 to 4 years of experience in a financial institution with specific expertise in quality control review or a supervisory role. Experience in both back and front facing operations preferred.
Experience in investigating member transactions and reviewing member information.
Operational knowledge of AML/BSA, OFAC, and Federal/State regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
May require standing or walking up to 25% of the time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and engaging in physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
May be required to work in environments with high noise levels and variable temperature and ventilation conditions.
