As a part of the Technology & Innovation Team, the Lab Technician role will empower you to execute scientific test procedures and research as part of Advanced Processing and Hot Chlorination (high temperature chemical processing) development to produce accurate and valid results using a range of methods from standard to innovative technologies as per the strategic and development plan.
Your Impact in This Role
As a Lab Technician, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Perform experiments as per the Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring accurate results, respecting agreed deadlines. Ensure all data are logged with observations and conclusions.
Assist with validation, revision and develop of innovative procedures for investigations.
Acquire and maintain expertise in the use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or relevant IT system.
Develop the expertise to troubleshoot and complete minor repair of the instrumentation used in the daily operations of the laboratory.
Maintain analytical facilities and equipment according to the Laboratory Maintenance Plan.
Maintain required quality control documentation and perform all required calibrations on instrumentation as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual.
Conduct work safely and report safety problems to supervisor immediately for resolution.
This role will require possible shift work ensuring completion of experiments.

What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Geology, Materials Science, or research related fields. Experience in high temperature chemical processing is preferred.
1-3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting, laboratory coursework may substitute for experience.
Seeking self-starter able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in the local language and written and spoken English.

Salary
