TalentLogistiX is seeking an experienced Quality Inspection Team Lead to join a leading automotive manufacturing facility in Roanoke, IN. This position will lead daily quality inspection activities and support a team of inspectors to ensure manufactured components meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and established quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a manufacturing quality environment, strong knowledge of precision inspection methods, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining accuracy, consistency, productivity, and safety. Quality Inspection Team Lead Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily quality inspection activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Supervise, support, and provide direction to quality inspection team members.
- Perform quality inspections on manufactured automotive components to verify conformance to specifications.
- Perform hardness testing and accurately document inspection results.
- Inspect components using microscopes to identify defects, irregularities, and other quality concerns.
- Cross-cut components using saw equipment for inspection and analysis.
- Measure components using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Review inspection results and ensure measurements and findings are accurately documented.
- Identify nonconforming materials or components and communicate quality concerns to appropriate leadership and production personnel.
- Assist with troubleshooting quality issues and support corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly operated and maintained according to established procedures.
- Train and coach inspection team members on quality procedures, inspection methods, equipment, and work instructions.
- Monitor team adherence to company quality standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and computerized quality documentation.
- Support production teams by providing timely and accurate inspection results.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Quality Inspection Team Lead Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing quality inspection is required; previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- Experience training, leading, or directing quality inspection personnel is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with hardness testing, microscopes, and precision measuring equipment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
- Ability to accurately interpret measurements, inspection results, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent quality standards.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to accurately enter and maintain inspection data.
- Ability to identify quality issues and effectively communicate findings to production and management.
- Ability to work independently while effectively leading and supporting a team.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English in order to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and operate digital inspection equipment.
- Ability to work any assigned shift and successfully complete required 1st-shift training.
