Job Summary
M&J Precision Machine is a World Class Precision Machining facility for the Aerospace Industry. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with customer requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance processes, Aerospace requirements, and effective mechanical skills. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain quality systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Ensure the organization QMS conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001/AS9100, and regulatory/legal requirements
Review customer requirements and make sure production documentation reflects requirements.
Work with Production and Material Control to identify vendor related problems that do emerge during manufacturing and assembly and find solutions.
Coordination of all QA/QC activities
Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality
Verifying incoming materials meets requirements
Conducting statistical analysis of production processes and reporting of findings.
Hands-on, creation, tracking, measurement, and consistent review of all internal processes, procedures and work instructions necessary to build a defect-free product that meets the customers’ quality standards
Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals
Initiating and assisting with containment activities.
Promoting the application of error proofing solutions by challenging root cause and corrective actions.
Partner with vendors to ensure proper quality procedures and documentation that is sufficient to meet customer requirements and quality objectives.
Performing other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager.
Skills
Experience in process improvement, supplier quality assurance, machining of metals, non-destructive testing, and first article documentation
Ability to prioritize various duties and work within competing deadlines
Experience with various standards and requirements and the flow down to internal and external customers
Certified Quality Engineer (a plus)
Proficiency with MS Office required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical procedures and governmental regulations required
Understanding of GD&T required
Strong mechanical proficiency required
Experience with 3D CAD software a plus
Experience with Aerospace machined parts
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Experience with root-cause problem solving techniques and error proofing methodologies
Understanding of Aerospace documentation requirements required
Knowledge of SPC, Capability Studies, Gage R&R and Sampling plans.
Education
The ideal candidate will have a four-year technical college degree and three to five years’ related experience in regulated quality systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience can be used in lieu of degree.
