Overview
WSI, LLC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team at Mosaic Potash’s Main Site in Carlsbad, NM. This role supports Quality Control (QC) operations at an active potash mining facility and plays a vital part in helping the plant produce high-quality product.
The Lab Technician will be responsible for collecting product samples from various points on-site and performing routine testing and analysis in the QC Lab.
This role involves repetitive, process-driven tasks that must be completed accurately and on schedule to support plant efficiency and quality standards.
Candidates with a background in laboratory work, science coursework, or quality control are strongly encouraged to apply. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently and values accuracy and consistency in their work.
Duties
Collect product samples at designated locations on site
Conduct standardized quality control tests on samples in the laboratory
Record and report findings accurately and promptly to support plant adjustments
Use computers and digital systems to enter test results and generate documentation
Follow established laboratory procedures and safety protocols
Work independently during assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays (as needed)
Communicate any abnormalities or urgent findings to the appropriate personnel
Utilize basic scientific knowledge to support sample analysis and decision-making
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license (required for site access)
Ability to work shift schedules, including nights and weekends
Basic computer literacy (data entry, lab reporting software, etc.)
Strong time management skills to ensure timely completion of sample testing
Ability to work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision
Willingness to learn and follow lab procedures, process protocols, and safety practices
Background in science, laboratory work, or technical quality control (preferred)
