POSITION SUMMARY— Produce components and/or final products by assembling parts. Assemblers use a variety of tools and processes to complete assemblies and meet quality standards. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assemble parts according to the Bill of Materials (BOM), Quality in Station (QIS), work instruction, control plan, or other blueprints using mechanical or adhesive fasteners
Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering components, tools, and materials according to specifications and ensure all incoming items have met quality standards
Position components by using templates, fixtures, or reading measurements according to quality documentation
Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening them together
Verify specifications by measuring completed parent items in check fixtures as assigned in First Off procedures; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources
Verify that equipment is operational with proper usage and notify management of any issues or inconsistencies
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as intendedDocument actions by completing production and quality forms if applicableContribute to organizational efforts by accomplishing related tasks or moving departments as neededCommunicate inventory shortages to supervisorAbility to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersSupport the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to read QIS work instructions, control plans, or blueprints
Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
Effectively communicate
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
Maintain the production pace of BOM standards
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and various equipment as needed
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred
Experience: Any manufacturing and/or assembly experience preferred
Computer Skills: Demonstration of computer literacy preferred
