Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Corporate Compliance Officer and in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, Medical Director and Director of Behavioral Health Services, the QA Specialist is responsible for supportting the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. This position involves assessing current practices, analyzing data, and collaborating with staff across departments to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
Essential Duties:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Incumbent must be able to demonstrate
Strong knowledge of the principles of quality assurance and quality improvement.
Proficient in medical terminology and medical center operations, or demonstrated ability to rapidly learn.
Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to understand operational challenges and propose solutions to improve quality metrics and patient satisfaction.
Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and written communications for internal stakeholders, leadership, board members, and external regulatory bodies.
Knowledgeable of grant reporting requirements specific to FQHC programs and capable of learning additional reporting methods.
Conduct in-depth data analysis related to patient outcomes, critical incidents reports, and clinical workflows to identify areas for improvement.
Oversee critical incident report management and ensure their closure.
Exceptional ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively with diverse clinical and medical personnel.
Advanced computer skills with significant expertise in data analysis using Microsoft Excel, including creating and managing pivot tables, complex formulas, data visualization, charts, and graphs to analyze data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights for performance improvement.
Demonstrated skill in performing detailed, in-depth data analysis to support quality improvement projects.
Capability to manage tasks within established timelines and deadlines.
Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize effectively in an environment with competing demands
Proven capacity to foster cooperation and engage team members from various disciplines to achieve performance improvement objectives.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in health care or relatable business field degree preferred. Education & relevant work experience equivalent may be considered and substituted for a degree.
At least one year relevant work experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, program management or closely related activity.
Prior working knowledge of primary care operations and/or behavioral health care, preferably in a FQHC and/or CCBHC.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions including pivot tables, complex formulas, data visualization, and charts) and the ability to generate reports and dashboards.
