About the Role
This is a great step-up opportunity for a fabricator or welder who’s looking to move off the tools and transition into a quality-focused role. It’s a hands-on position that lets you apply your practical knowledge while building new skills in inspection, auditing, and process improvement.
As a Quality Inspector at AutoPacific Group, you’ll play an important part in ensuring our products meet quality and safety standards. You’ll be on the floor working alongside production teams, conducting inspections, checking specifications, and helping maintain a strong quality culture.

Role Responsibilities
Conduct First Off/Last Off and periodic inspections to verify compliance with specifications, drawings, and control plans.
Perform random audits of production processes, ensuring adherence to PCPs, SOPs, and work instructions.
Support dimensional studies and quality verifications using metrology tools such as verniers and height gauges.
Monitor process performance and compile quality reports, particularly relating to welding and finishing.
Collaborate with production team leaders and quality engineers to identify and resolve quality issues in real time.
Make informed decisions to stop production when non-conformances are identified and verify conformance in pilot runs.
Drive continuous improvement by analysing defects, warranty data, and process inefficiencies.
Translate customer feedback into process improvements and support lean manufacturing practices.
Promote a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to internal and external quality standards.
About You
Previous experience in a quality assurance, inspection, or auditing role within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with welding processes and symbols, as well as paint and coating performance standards.
Confident in using metrology tools and interpreting engineering drawings and product specifications.
Strong knowledge of quality systems, including PCPs, SOPs, and corrective/preventative actions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Comfortable using basic computer systems for reporting and data analysis.
Proactive, ethical, and committed to driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Adaptable and resilient in fast-paced environments, with a focus on results and customer expectations.
