OBJECTIVE: To aid the quality control manager in analytical processing of raw and finished goods and in performance of SRSC internal quality checks.
Responsibilities and Duties: (This listing is not all-inclusive and is subject to change)
This position will be to assist the Quality Sanitation Supervisor and Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager by running meat samples and checking moisture, fat, protein ash and Ph levels in all meat products produced.
It will require the candidate to go into production areas and collect samples, operate computerized laboratory equipment, and perform internal QC checks during processing of finished goods.
QC tech will enter data into computer programs.
Will conduct random and scheduled raw material supplier sampling and perform GMP audits daily of production areas.
Some internal quality checks could include but are not limited to: Tanker/Trailer sanitation pre-checks, Trailer temperature checks, random sanitation inspections, raw and finished goods check for temperature, spoilage, foreign contaminates and possible quality risk or hazards.
Verifying that outbound products meet customer packaging and temperature specification requirements.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or above average experience in agriculture or basic laboratory testing skills.
LANGUAGE:
English is required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
Prior work experience in Quality Assurance preferred but not required.
Capable of using Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Word.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
Strong problem-solving and root cause skills mandatory.
Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
Team players focused on team building.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess the ability to stand, grasp, bend, and ability to walk on wet or dry floors. Normal duties of this job should not require lifting more than 50 lbs. Ability to climb a ladder at least 12’ high and perform quality checks standing on an elevated platform within safety railing.
WORK ENVIRONEMENT: Laboratory area is heated and cooled. Production areas depending on operations are either wet, cold, and drafty or hot, humid, and dry.
