Position Summary
UTC Aerospace Systems is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform receiving, in-process, and finished-component inspections in a manufacturing/aerospace environment. The role uses precision inspection, measuring, and test equipment to verify product quality while supporting quality documentation, material control, SPC requirements, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of components.
- Use appropriate inspection methods, measuring equipment, and test equipment.
- Perform complex part setups and inspections.
- Operate and, preferably, program CMM equipment.
- Verify SPC data when applicable for final acceptance.
- Inspect products, materials, and inspection records through the MES system.
- Identify, document, and report discrepancies.
- Generate required documentation for discrepant parts.
- Inspect customer-returned products and define/report discrepancies.
- Prepare Certificates of Conformance when required.
- Assist with developing and implementing inspection instructions.
- Ensure nonconforming material is properly segregated, documented, and controlled.
- Communicate effectively with employees and other departments regarding quality issues.
- Follow applicable policies, regulations, safety requirements, company procedures, and operating instructions.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience using quality inspection methods and measuring/test equipment.
- Experience inspecting receiving, in-process, and finished components.
- Ability to perform accurate inspections and verify SPC data when applicable.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical instructions, policies, procedures, and operating requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
- Ability to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- CMM operation experience.
- CMM programming experience.
- Aerospace or manufacturing quality inspection experience.
- Experience with MES/quality systems.
- Experience with nonconforming material and discrepancy documentation.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment and complex inspection setups.
Work Environment
This is an onsite, 1st-shift position in Santa Fe Springs, California. The selected candidate will work closely with manufacturing and other departments to ensure components and finished products meet required quality standards.

Candidates must be able to work onsite at the Santa Fe Springs facility and must meet the U.S. Citizenship requirement. Candidates should have accurate employment history available for background/onboarding verification.
