Our client, a major Oil and Gas client, is looking for an Inspection Advisor to join their team on an initial 1-year contract in Sarnia, ON.

Primary Work Activities:

  • Build & maintain relationships with Project Team, contractors, fabricators, & equipment vendors/ suppliers involved in the project.
  • Serves as a “Safety Champion” on site and sets an example for behavior and compliance for both Company and Contractor personnel.
  • Monitor, liaison, implement compliance of regulatory & statutory quality requirements.
  • Conduct vendor drawing reviews as required for piping, towers, drums, exchangers, steel modules, equipment packages, pumps, etc.
  • Review Fabrication & Vendor ITPs, weld procedures, NDE procedures, quality manuals, etc.as required
  • Ensure Contractors / Vendors/ Suppliers adhere to the quality inspection programs & ITPs to meet all specified requirements
  • Witness hydrotests at fabricator shops as required.
  • Identify defects or deviations from requirements during inspections & document/ report such items promptly.
  • Visit construction, fabrication and or vendor shops as required to witness hold points during construction & fabrication and sign-off (arrange /interface with Project Quality Lead and or Quality Coordinator as required if travel is not ideal) to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Working with Project Construction Team ensure Construction Surveillance Programme is followed by Contractors on site.
  • Write Project Site reports summarizing findings & observations as required.
  • Assist in identifying & resolving problems and potential or actual non-conformances.
  • Troubleshoot inspection-related issues as they arise during the project
  • Work closely with Sarnia Project Team to ensure readiness to receive modules and equipment onsite (e.g., crane prep).
  • Ensure the quality of newly fabricated equipment / lifting aids meets industry & company standards.
  • Review final Inspection Release Notices (IRNs) before release of modules & equipment.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Sarnia Quality Team and Engineering & Procurement Contractor as required for fabrication and other inspection activities.
  • Monitor the closeout of punch lists established for incomplete work / activities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10 years previous experience in Quality Inspection & or in a Quality related role
  • Experience executing Project quality assurance and quality control activities
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry applying quality requirements and principles
  • Willing and able for business travel to Project Sites (Vendor Sites, Fabrication Sites, Construction Sites, etc.) to provide various levels of Quality Inspection support.
  • Possess one of the following certifications: CWB Level 2, API 510, or API 570
  • Knowledge / use of Aconex. And Hexagon Smart Completions (preferred)
