Position Summary
Continental Controls is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with a strong background in precision machining. This position is responsible for inspecting machined components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined parts and is proficient with precision measuring equipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of precision machined components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, and material requirements.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and document inspection results.
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, and surface plate inspection equipment.
- Inspect CNC-machined parts for dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
- Identify, document, and disposition nonconforming material.
- Work closely with Machining, Engineering, and Production to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Support corrective and preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and machined components.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience performing First Article Inspections.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
- Background in aerospace, defense, medical device, or other precision manufacturing environments.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
