Quality Inspector Jobs in Carson City, NV at RBC Bearings Incorporated
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician with hands-on experience in wet chemistry, analytical testing, and electroplating techniques. The ideal candidate will support our plating and surface finishing operations by conducting routine and advanced chemical analyses, maintaining bath chemistries, and ensuring compliance with internal specifications and quality standards.
NOTE – this is a 2nd shift opportunity, training will be on 1st shift.
Pay is $25-$30/hr depending on direct experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform wet chemistry analyses (e.g., titrations, pH, conductivity, specific gravity) on plating baths and rinse waters.
Monitor and maintain electroplating bath chemistries (nickel, gold, silver, tin, copper, etc.).
Prepare chemical solutions and perform routine tests in accordance with lab protocols and safety guidelines.
Utilize lab instruments such as analytical balances, pH meters, spectrophotometers, and conductivity meters.
Assist in the troubleshooting of plating processes and recommend corrective actions based on analytical results.
Document test results, maintain lab records, and generate reports as required.
Support quality control efforts to ensure parts meet plating thickness and adhesion specifications.
Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure proper storage and disposal of chemicals.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams on process improvements and problem-solving.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a plating laboratory or chemical testing environment.
Familiarity with electroplating processes, surface finishing, and metal deposition preferred.
Strong foundation in wet chemistry techniques and chemical handling.
Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
Good communication skills and a proactive, safety-focused attitude.
Comfortable working in a lab and industrial manufacturing environment.
