Quality Inspector
Position Overview:
TK Machining Specialties (TKMS), based in Ross, OH, is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Quality Inspector (QI) to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that parts, materials, and the finished product meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards. A Quality Inspector examines, measures, tests and documents the quality of incoming, in-process, and finished materials. As the QI, you will accept or reject products based on specifications, and identify the defects to help prevent those items moving forward in production.

Due to rapid growth, we are looking to expand northwest of Cincinnati in the coming year.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect manufactured parts and assemblies using calipers, micrometers, gauges, templates, and other precision instruments to verify tolerances.
- Operate advanced metrology equipment, including CMMs, and roundness testers.
- Conduct visual inspections for surface defects, cosmetic issues, and workmanship problems using approved reference samples.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine inspection criteria.
- Monitor production operations to ensure quality standards are met, recommend adjustments as needed; and perform First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Complete work orders accurately in the ERP system.
- Document inspection results and records as directed under the QMS.
- Tag and segregate nonconforming material and initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- Conduct inspection-related nonconformance investigations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to investigate root causes and support corrective actions.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Education level: Associates, Technical Trade School.
- 2+ years of Quality Inspection experience within a manufacturing or precision production environment.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and Metrology equipment including Taylor Hobson and Mitutoyo test equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Experience working with quality management systems (QMS) for logging inspection data.
- Understanding of quality standards, procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects.

- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and retain new information.
- Clear understanding of data collection and retention processes.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
