Quality Inspector, temp-to-hire
Pay & Schedule: $20/hour | Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–3:45 PM, and Friday, 6:30 AM–11:30 AM
About the Role
Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for precision? As our Quality Inspector, you’ll ensure every component and product meets our exacting standards. You’ll test and inspect items at multiple stages of production, using industry-standard tools and equipment. This role moves between Incoming Inspection and Final Test Inspection, so you’ll need to be adaptable and ready to jump in wherever you’re needed most.
What You’ll Do
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications with confidence.
- Use calibrated mechanical and electrical tools, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, plug and thread gauges, hardness testers, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Measure products against engineering drawings and specifications, recording your findings and flagging any non-conformances. You’ll also maintain product history cards and inspection logs.
- Process parts through our ERP system.
- Keep thorough and organized inspection records and files.
- Inspect and test incoming supplier products, along with internal subassemblies and assemblies, all the way through packaging and shipping.
- Conduct first-piece inspections on items from subassembly and assembly.
- Step in on Final Test or Incoming Inspection duties when workloads run high.
- Contribute ideas and effort to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take on other duties as needed.
What You Bring
- A high school diploma, plus training or hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical inspection tools.
- One to three years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Engineering drawings and Quality Control standards.
- Comfort with everyday computer programs like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Awareness of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Soldering knowledge is a nice bonus, but not required!
Training You’ll Receive
General Safety and Quality System Awareness training will set you up for success in this role.
Physical Demands
This role requires sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
You’ll split your time between a manufacturing floor and an office setting, with regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and odors.
