Position Overview:
MP Materials is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Internal Audit Team as a Staff Auditor. This role will support the planning, execution, and reporting of financial, operational, and IT audits. This role is ideal for those looking to start a career in internal auditing.
Position Responsibilities:
Support the planning, execution, and reporting of financial, operational, and IT audits, including SOX compliance.
Assist in developing audit programs, testing plans, and internal control documentation (e.g., flowcharts, narratives, and walkthroughs).
Perform testing of controls, document procedures, and evaluate results in accordance with audit standards.
Identify control deficiencies and process improvement opportunities; communicate findings and recommendations to management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attend relevant meetings to stay informed of business changes and emerging risks.
Stay current on audit standards, internal control frameworks, and industry best practices.
Respond to audit requests from external auditors and support other audit activities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); Visio experience is a plus.
Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Desired Qualities:
Internship or relevant experience in auditing, accounting, or finance.
Familiarity with audit standards, internal control frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.
Exposure to audit tools such as SAP or AuditBoard.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to non-technical audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and manage assignments in a timely manner.
Creative problem-solver who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
