Aerospace Quality Control Experience Required
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector with hands-on experience in AS9100 and AS9102 environments to join our precision spring manufacturing facility in Anaheim.
This role is critical to ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer specifications (including Boeing standards), and internal quality management systems. Candidates without aerospace quality control experience will not be considered.
Position Summary
The Aerospace Quality Inspector is responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAI), final inspections, receiving inspections, and 100% spring load testing in accordance with AS9100 quality standards and AS9102 documentation requirements.
This position works closely with Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Source Inspectors to maintain compliance, accuracy, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Aerospace Inspection & Compliance
- Perform First Article / First Piece Inspections (FAI)
- Complete AS9102 forms and documentation
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 Quality Management System
- Apply Boeing and customer-specific aerospace standards
- Perform final inspection and Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) evaluations
- Conduct 100% inspection and load testing of aerospace springs
Blueprint Reading & Precision Measurement
- Interpret engineering drawings and aerospace blueprints
- Inspect parts using dial calipers, micrometers, digital comparators, and precision measurement tools
- Verify dimensional tolerances and material specifications
Documentation & Quality Systems
- Document inspection results accurately and in real time
- Maintain document control per aerospace quality standards
- Conduct receiving inspections on raw materials
- Manage calibration of hand-held inspection tools
- Approve or reject materials based on aerospace quality criteria
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate measurement discrepancies to manufacturing and engineering teams
- Present quality concerns to management
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain 6S standards and department cleanliness
Required Qualifications
✔ Minimum 1–2 years Aerospace Quality Inspection experience
✔ Hands-on experience with AS9100 Quality System
✔ Strong knowledge of AS9102 documentation and First Article Inspection (FAI)
✔ Experience working with Boeing standards or major aerospace customer requirements
✔ Ability to read aerospace blueprints and technical drawings
✔ Proficiency using precision inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators)
✔ Knowledge of AQL and final inspection processes
✔ Authorized to work in the U.S.
✔ Proficient in English and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace spring or metal component manufacturing
- Experience working with customer source inspectors
- Calibration management experience
