Quality Inspector II

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector II ensures the consistent quality of manufactured products by conducting thorough inspections, identifying defects, and verifying adherence to established specifications and standards throughout the production process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured cans and components, including visual, dimensional, and functional checks, using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Interpret and apply technical drawings, specifications, and quality control plans to assess product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately and promptly, including non-conformances, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Identify and report quality issues, collaborating with production and engineering teams to investigate root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Operate and calibrate various inspection equipment and gauges, ensuring their accuracy and proper functioning.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of quality control procedures and inspection methodologies.
  • Conduct audits of production processes to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
  • Train and mentor junior quality inspectors on inspection techniques and quality standards.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and adhere to all safety regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably within a manufacturing environment (can manufacturing experience is a significant advantage).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges).
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control (SPC), and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in quality assurance/control is preferred.
