What You’ll Do
As a Lab Technologist, you’ll contribute your expertise to ensure the smooth and precise operation of our state-of-the-art molecular lab, specializing in respiratory pathogen and urinary tract infection panels.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Handling: Receive, accession, and store patient specimens with meticulous care.
Laboratory Operations: Collaborate with the Lab Technical Supervisor to manage daily workflows and uphold operational excellence.
Technical Expertise: Perform DNA and RNA extraction, PCR testing, and post-PCR analyses, including sequencing, hybridization, and fragment analysis.
Compliance and Quality Control: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to the development and maintenance of Quality Control Programs.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage PCR-related supplies to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
Regulatory Adherence: Maintain accurate documentation, including Maintenance Logs and Temperature Logs, in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
Support Functions: Assist with data collection, sample accessioning, and related laboratory tasks as needed.
What You Bring
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field.
Experience: At least one year of clinical biological laboratory experience, preferably in a molecular PCR lab.
Highly Desired Skills
Expertise in nucleic acid technology and proficiency in PCR extraction techniques.
Strong understanding of quality control and quality improvement programs.
Skillful in pipetting techniques and basic chemical calculations.
Highly detail-oriented with excellent prioritization and organizational abilities.
Technologically proficient in laboratory software and systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration.
