Job Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team at our organic juice manufacturing facility located in Mineral Wells, TX. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality by inspecting packaging, labelling, coding, fill level, country of origin and best by date markings. The technician will have the authority to stop the production line if defects increase so correction actions can be implemented. In addition, this position will complete all necessary documentation related to quality control activities related to this control and inspection. This position also supports other QC functions, including incoming tanker juice inspections, by performing visual, analytical, and organoleptic tests.

Line Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect packaging, labels, production codes, and best-by dates for accuracy and defects.
  • Monitor quality trends and take corrective action, including stopping the production line when necessary.
  • Document all QC findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the inspection of incoming tanker juice, performing visual, analytical, and sensory evaluations.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Lab Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods for compliance with company specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Perform standardized inspections, product testing, and quality checks to ensure all products meet company, state, and federal food safety and quality standards.
  • Record, review, and report findings from quality checks and audits.
  • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of measuring and testing equipment.
  • Investigate non-conformities and work with production to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends, reporting defects, and proposing solutions.
  • Verify labels, lot codes, packaging, and weights are within acceptable ranges.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist with documentation during audits.
  • Ensure all QA/QC logs, records, and forms are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor and inspect areas for compliance with sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime while maintaining quality control.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • This role requires accuracy, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field is a plus.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a food manufacturing or quality control environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP, GMPs, SQF or similar certification.
  • PCQI certification is a plus.
  • Food Safety certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, QA tracking systems).

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing facility with extended standing periods.
  • Exposure to cold storage areas and hot production environments.
  • A fast-paced, physically demanding environment requires close attention to detail.
