Job Summary: Test fabric to be sure it meets Company standards.
Tools and Equipment used: Scott tester, Wyzenbeck abrasion, Martindale abrasion, brush & pill, calipers, scales, twist meter, yarn reels, crock meter, sewing machines, scissors (manual and electrical), flame test equipment, fire extinguisher, various office equipment, specification manuals, dye cutters, wetting agents, desiccators, crock meter.
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO work instructions and standards:
Perform physical testing of fabrics according to industry standards.
Maintain yarn standards.
Maintain accurate files on fabric and yarn tests.
Perform physical tests on all yarns used for the above patterns.
Perform trial weaving review process.
Process daily contract customer approval cuts.
Work scheduled overtime.
Perform inter laboratory testing to ensure accuracy of our test methods.
Assist in any other trial testing as required by management
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety:
Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Maintain 5 S standards.
Earplugs in high noise areas, any equipment prescribed by MSDS.
Qualifications:
Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
High school diploma.
Basic knowledge of plant wide operations.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
