ABOUT THE ROLE
CountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender headquartered in Plano, TX, is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to help grow our Quality Control Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office. The Quality Control Specialist focuses on reviewing financial products to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines and regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in identifying potential risks, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the company’s efforts to maintain high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct routine quality control reviews of consumer, mortgage and commercial loan products.
Ability to calculate income, review credit history, calculate loan to value (LTV) and debt to income (DTI)
Inspect mortgage loan files to ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements (e.g., RESPA, TILA, FHA, VA)
Review the commercial loan file review to ensure that the underwriting process was thorough, including loan file documentation, UCC filings process, financial statement analysis, etc.
Ensure loans meet underwriting criteria and align with the company’s policies and guidelines
Review underwriting decisions and verify that all borrower information, income documentation, credit reports, surveys, title policies, and appraisals were properly evaluated before approval
Perform routine audits to determine accuracy, consistency, error detection, omission of data/information, process and/or system gaps, etc.
Record and document quality control results, noting any deviations from quality standards
Report QC findings to senior staff and assist in investigations of defects and corrective actions
Follow established testing and sampling procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy
Ensure processes and samples reviewed are managed in adherence to internal policies and procedures, investor/insurer guidelines, and regulations.
Ensure audits are performed in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures
Responsible for preparing quality control reports for the department manager
Deliver quality control results and provide feedback on tasks that need improvement
Assist in responding, monitoring, and tracking compliance complaints. Provide reporting as needed
Perform administrative, database administration and preparation of reports as required
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS, CAPABILITIES, & SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret published rules and regulations

Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS/BBA degree required in Marketing, Business, Accounting, Finance or Management
