Under the direction of the VP of Operations, manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with industry standards. Manage the day-to-day inspection of product ensuring compliance with standards and customer expectations. Monitor production processes, identify quality deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and prevent future issues. Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards.

Identify non-conformances, areas for improvement, and initiate corrective actions. Investigate customer returns or complaints related to quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence. Collect and analyze quality data. Generate reports to track quality metrics, identify trends, and root causes for continuous improvement. Train and educate employees on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, manage and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).

Act as the company quality representative interfacing with external auditors to maintain ISO 9001 certification.

Compile and present management review presentations meeting ISO requirements that outline the state of the company.

Establish, maintain, and publish quality metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and procedures.

Manage internal and external non-conformance reports, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans.

Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues and implement preventive measures.

Conduct product inspections, measurements, and accurate documentation to ensure compliance with specifications. Provide expertise regarding actions required for non-conforming products.

Analyze data from quality checks to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

Manage incoming supplier quality, conduct supplier audits, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Maintain gauge/inspection equipment repair and calibration programs with proper documentation and records. Must be familiar with inspection methods and equipment required for the proper verification of product.

Foster a culture of superior quality and continuous improvement across the organization.

Lead quality improvement projects to identify and implement process enhancements.

Facilitate problem-solving activities to address quality issues.

Develop and deliver quality-related training programs to all levels of employees.

Ensure employees are adequately trained on quality procedures and standards.

Prepare and present regular quality reports to management highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or related field.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Proven experience in quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.

Quality experience in a cutting tool manufacturing facility (e.g., produced carbide or PCD tooling).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.

High proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools in Microsoft Access/Excel products and ERP systems.
