Job Summary
Oversee and lead all facets of quality planning, business system compliance, quality control, quality/business systems, customer satisfaction, corrective action, and continual improvement.
Principal Responsibilities
Utilize proven quality engineering and management disciplines to:
Mentor/coach team members in the use of Problem Solving tools and application of statistical analysis to resolve complex product and process problems.
Lead the site in compliance to documented customer specifications and published standards.
Provide routine reports to top management of the site QMS performance and of identified opportunities for improvement.
Promote customer focus throughout the organization.
Ensure integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes are planned and implemented.
Assume responsibility for corrective and preventive action efforts, methods, and effectiveness, including cross-functional team approach to identification of root cause and documented effective corrective action.
Oversee management of customer data and data exchange through customer portals, including access to customer scorecards and appropriate response to performance data.
Act as the authority to stop shipments and production to correct quality.
Ensure that personnel with authority and responsibility for corrective action are promptly informed of external issues.
Develop and monitor performance to the site quality control/management budget.
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
5+ years’ experience in the automotive industry.
Knowledge of ISO and IATF standards.
Demonstrated experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt practitioner.
Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities with technical success.
Competence in Quality disciplines (MSA interpretation, process capability analysis and application, APQP, Change Management, PPAP, FMEA, etc.).
Excellent presentation skills.
Experience leading continuous improvement teams to achieve desired outcomes.
Experience in direct involvement in high volume / high mix manufacturing.
Strong project management skills.
Proficiency with MS Office products.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Location and Travel Requirements
This role is based in Lexington, OH. Minimum travel may be required.
