The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Control / Technical Manager to join our team and ensure the continued success of our existing quality systems and procedures. This role is essential for maintaining the high standards we’ve set for product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for leading the quality department, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring ongoing adherence to food safety regulations and quality management systems.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage Technical Department: Oversee the daily operations of the quality team, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and operational efficiency.

Accreditations & Compliance: Maintain AOECS and HACCP systems, ensuring compliance with relevant food safety certifications (e.g., BRC, ISO).

Documentation & Specifications: Manage document control, ensuring all procedures, recipes, and customer specifications are up to date.

Reporting & Audits: Produce monthly KPI technical reports, handle audits (customer, TSO, EHO), and ensure all corrective actions are implemented.

Customer Complaints & Continuous Improvement: Investigate medium/high-risk customer complaints and drive improvements in quality systems.

Supplier & Product Management: Oversee supplier approval processes and ensure raw materials and packaging meet specifications.

Internal Audits & Food Safety Culture: Ensure internal audits (GMP, systems) are completed on schedule, and drive food safety culture across the business.

Calibration & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain calibration schedules and ensure all technical equipment is within required operational standards.

Hygiene & Traceability: Monitor hygiene standards, oversee cleaning protocols, and manage traceability exercises every 6 months.

 

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience in managing quality control in food manufacturing.

Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, FSQMS, and food safety standards.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Experience in leading audits and maintaining food safety certifications.

Desirable:

Food manufacturing experience, especially Gluten-Free production
