Our client is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible to ensure compliance with industry and legislative quality standards; ensuring that systems and procedures operated within the business align with the requirements of HACCP, NRCS and EU requirements

Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct product compliance tests for purposes of export sampling and certification of white fish and other species.
Drive quality awareness strategy in the plant by leading the HACCP team and coordinating cross-functional engagement on quality issues and solutions.
Set customer service standards ensuring that the product or service provided is fit for purpose and meets all customer and legislative requirements.
Drive implementation of the quality management system by evaluating adequacy of standards, conducting regular audits, monitoring compliance, and providing expert advice as required.
Conduct training on revised quality and food safety principles; further updating stakeholders on tools and techniques to enable achievement of quality standards.
Conduct a mock recall of product defects in preparation for the actual recall.
Conduct annual management reviews and set up documentation procedures.
Ensure that all employees handling fish products are subjected to medical surveillance assessments.
Manage conduct and behaviour of team members, further ensuring that they are motivated to deliver required outcomes consistently.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 and a minimum National Diploma in Food Technology
Certificate in Quality Management
More than 5 years working as a senior quality specialist or quality engineer within a quality management environment
Knowledge of Food safety standards, Microbiology and exposure to NRCS inspection procedures as well as governing industry legislation
Knowledge of HACCP
Knowledge of External regulators and Service Providers (NRCS, EU export compliance, HACCP, DEFF and MSC).
Knowledge on use of TRACES system
Valid Driver’s Licence
Own transport
