The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 250+ colleagues and is growing.
You will work on a microservices based framework used across the company to run and integrate multiple Frequentis products. As a quality assurance engineer you will be responsible for checking the compliance with our ATM standards (ED-109A, ED-153), COTS compliance for our MosaiX libraries. The product runs on RedHat 8/10, handles the deployment and configuration of the OS and supports the configuration and orchestration of services packaged as Docker images and offers management tools to configure, monitor and operate the system. We are developing for a safety critical environment, following industry standards, where high availability and redundancy is a basic requirement.
Key Tasks
- Drive the COTS software assurance process and documentation (selection, evaluation, qualification, usage constraints)
- Ensure compliance of third-party components with applicable standards and project requirements
- Collaborate with development teams to assess risks and mitigation strategies for external libraries
- Maintain COTS compliance documentation and traceability
- Ensure compliance of the product with software development and safety standards
- Interface and point of contact regarding processes and software safety compliance requirements
- Support in software assurance for product releases
- Work in parallel with software development teams, acting as an independent quality partner
- Create, review, support and maintain plans and manuals for quality assurance
- Assess product specifications and customer requirements and include them in the traceability
- Write technical and quality management system reports, process descriptions, plans, procedures, etc.
- Challenge and support development teams in ensuring compliance and quality from early design phases
Key Qualifications
- Experience in Software Quality Assurance, COTS, tools assurance and qualification
- Willingness to write documentation: process description, work instructions, report, audit checklists, etc.
- SWLC experience: AGILE, SCRUM.
- Good knowledge of software development processes
- Good knowledge of quality standards
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Good English knowledge, both written and verbally
- Nice to have: knowledge about ISO/ED standards, VBA-Excel, presentation skills
