Overview
An international manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee product and process quality across its production operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing quality systems, leading inspections and audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with internal teams and international stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining product quality and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure finished products meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements and internal procedures.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and implement corrective and preventative actions where required.
- Manage dimensional inspections using manual measuring equipment and 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Oversee incoming goods inspections to ensure supplier compliance with quality requirements.
- Investigate and manage internal and external non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct internal and supplier quality audits.
- Maintain and manage quality documentation, including inspection plans, technical drawings and procedures.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of measuring equipment.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, logistics and international stakeholders to support quality objectives.
- Lead and develop a small quality team, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, geometric tolerances and quality inspection processes.
- Experience programming and operating 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Good English communication skills; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
- Previous leadership or team management experience.
