Cox Communication is searching for a talented Senior Mobile Test Engineer in Atlanta, GA! This role will provide support for device validation & certification for Android, iOS devices, wearables and BYOD use cases for Cox Mobile customers. In addition to device validation, this person will also support other device technology initiatives including Data offload over WiFi, 5G SA features etc. To be successful, this person will have a strong background in wireless technology including understanding of 4G, 5G NSA, 5G SA, VoLTE, VoNR technologies and implementation. Additionally, he or she must have strong communication skills to work closely with cross-functional teams within Cox and with device OEMs and Cox vendor partners as needed.

This is a 10-month W2 contract assignment with the opportunity for contract extension or to transition to a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Senior Mobile Test Engineer:
Support device validation & certification to support Cox Mobile device launchs and maintenance releases (MRs).
Develop and maintain testing strategy, test plans and test cases for device certification that aligns with Cox business requirements and user experience.
Collect logs and perform triaging of defects from device testing.
Coordinate debugging sessions between OEMs and engineering teams to investigate issues for resolution.
Support other device technology initiatives & new feature rollout within Cox including wearables launch, Data offload over WiFi, Data offload over CBRS network via DSDS, mmWave, 5G SA, VoNR etc.
Ability to work adhere to all NDAs and work on confidential projects at Cox Mobile. Able to drive technical conversations with OEM partners with regards to device defects and debugging as needed.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams deliver activities and tasks necessary for successful launch and achievement of business objectives.
Support setting up & running sanity test plans on existing automation platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications of the Senior Mobile Test Engineer:
BS/BE degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g. Engineering).
A minimum of 3+ years of device testing & certification experience in lab or in the field.
Good understanding of wireless technologies including VoLTE, VoNR 4G, 5G (SA and NSA) network architecture and protocols.
A minimum of 3+ years of experience in triaging device defects on Android or iOS devices.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in device logging tools like QXDM, Shannon etc.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
Strong motivator and communicator both verbally and through written instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Mobile Test Engineer:
Master’s degree in engineering or related field with 2 years’ experience.
Strong knowledge of 4G, 5G (SA & NSA) call flows and network architecture.
A minimum of 3+ years of experience in working on iOS & Android devices in a carrier lab & field certification environment.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in managing requirements in JIRA or equivalent.
Prior experience in device testing automation or knowledge of test script is highly desired.
