General Description

The Shipping Quality Assurance is primarily responsible for ensuring that multiple orders are packed and shipped with 100% accuracy. The position will keep accurate records of goods shipped by comparing product to and completing bills of lading and pick sheets. This position will also be required to rotate on occasional basis to include pulling orders and wrapping orders in addition to audit.
Responsabilities
Follow established guidelines to prepare and pack products for shipping as scheduled by Shipping Dock Supervisor.
Examine contents and compare to records, such as packaging slips or pull sheets, to verify 100% accuracy of outgoing shipments.
Work in a safe and productive manner obeying all safety regulations to include all pertinent safety training.
Participate in plant-wide cleanliness initiatives.
From time to time, for the purposes of allowing employees to advance as well as to meet day to day labor needs, we may ask employees to work in other departments/positions outside of their regular job classification.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work experience / Education requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
2+ years shipping experience.
Experience with inventory, cycle counts, or audit is a plus.
History of success in a position of accountability is preferred.
ABILITIES REQUIRED
Attention to detail and ability to count accurately are vital.
Dependable with good attendance.
Ability to operate a forklift is preferred.
Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Ability to lift and carry objects over 50lbs with assistance.
Ability to push, pull, kneel, squat on a frequent basis.
Standing/walking for minimum of 8 hours per day.
