Leadership
An established and growing automotive manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead plant-wide quality operations. This is a key onsite leadership role focused on compliance with IATF 16949, managing internal teams, interfacing with OEMs, and improving overall quality systems and supplier performance.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all quality assurance and control functions in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9000, QS-9000, and OEM quality requirements.
Lead customer audits, internal audits, and launch activities including PPAP, PSO, and pre-production quality planning.
Interface with manufacturing, engineering, and corporate leadership to proactively address product or process quality issues.
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including PPM reduction, RPN reduction, root cause analysis, and layered process audits.
Manage and mentor quality team members; foster a culture of accountability and high performance.
Monitor and ensure supplier compliance with automotive quality standards.
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of experience in quality management within automotive manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 (implementation and auditing experience required; certification preferred).
Hands-on experience managing internal quality processes, OEM compliance, supplier audits, and customer issue resolution.
Proven track record leading quality teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
Certified IATF 16949 Internal or Lead Auditor.
Familiarity with CCC, FMEA, CAPA, and other advanced quality tools.
Experience supporting automotive product launches and customer quality expectations.
Background with supplier quality management and external audits.
