Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to oversee and enhance our quality management systems within our small team of under 20 employee Fiber Optic Cable manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and control, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 including QMS, document control, nonconformance, corrective/preventive improvement, internal audits, supply quality, customer requirements, process control, measurement, and continual improvement. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical skills who can lead quality audits and implement effective quality systems to maintain the highest standards of product quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001, OSHA, IEC standards, and other relevant standards.
- Product testing including fiber length, OTDR and water penetration.
- Conduct regular quality audits including UL follow-up audits, UL inspection cost performance aggregation to assess compliance with established standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee quality control processes, including inspection protocols and testing procedures to ensure product integrity.
- Lead root cause analysis for non-conformities and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project management initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices and principles to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, trends, and performance indicators for management review.
Experience
- Proven experience in a Quality Manager role or similar position within a manufacturing environment preferably in fiber optic cable manufacturing.
- Extensive knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OSHA, and other relevant quality standards.
- Strong background in quality audits including UL follow-up audits, quality control, inspection processes, and assurance methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability in project management with effective leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
