POSITION SUMMARY

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the quality management system (QMS) across all utility-scale solar projects. This role ensures civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes are installed in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer requirements, contract specifications, and regulatory standards.

The QA/QC Manager protects project margins by reducing rework, supporting first-pass inspections, and ensuring commissioning readiness across the portfolio.

STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITY

Enterprise Quality Strategy

  • Develop and standardize company-wide Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Align QA/QC processes with growth strategy and MW targets.
  • Establish inspection benchmarks tied to construction milestones.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

Risk Mitigation & Margin Protection

  • Identify recurring quality issues across portfolios.
  • Implement preventive controls to reduce systemic defects.
  • Analyze cost-of-quality metrics to improve profitability.

Client & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Serve as primary quality contact for developers and third-party inspectors.
  • Ensure client quality expectations are integrated into project execution.
  • Support turnover documentation standards.

OPERATIONAL EXECUTION

Multi-Project Quality Oversight

  • Oversee QA/QC Leads across multiple active projects.
  • Conduct site audits and quality reviews.
  • Validate inspection processes are being executed properly.
  • Monitor punch list trends and corrective action timelines.

Inspection & Commissioning Readiness

  • Ensure inspection plans are aligned with project schedules.
  • Oversee torque testing, grounding verification, and MV inspections.
  • Confirm projects are prepared for AHJ and third-party inspections.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain enterprise-level quality reporting dashboards.
  • Standardize inspection checklists and reporting templates.
  • Review quality metrics with Construction leadership monthly.

  • Support NEC and applicable state code compliance oversight.

Regulatory & Inspection Compliance

  • Coordinate with AHJs and third-party inspectors.
  • Ensure proper documentation for regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain audit-ready quality records.

Documentation & Claims Defense

  • Maintain complete inspection records for turnover packages.
  • Support dispute resolution with documented quality evidence.
  • Ensure revision control of drawings and inspection forms.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-12+ years of construction experience (utility-scale solar preferred).
  • 3-5+ years of quality management leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and medium-voltage systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-project portfolios.
