QUALITY CONTROL COORDINATOR – Louisiana
AEROPRES is an innovative national manufacturer of environmentally safe aerosol propellants. We operate gas plants in California, New Jersey, Illinois, and Louisiana. We are currently seeking a QUALITY CONTROL COORDINATOR (QCC) for our Sibley, Louisiana location. The QCC is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards of our natural gas liquid products.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a gas plant or similar environment dealing with hazardous material, however highly skilled analytical and process-driven individuals will also be considered.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The QCC will conduct research and experimentation on substances for quantitative and qualitative analysis. This mainly includes analyzing organic compounds (NGL product blends) to determine chemical and physical properties, utilizing such techniques as chromatography, wet chemistry, and various other American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods.
Essential functions and responsibilities include reviewing production records, writing procedures for product quality, calibrating analytical instruments and gauges, performing gas chromatograph and laboratory instrumentation maintenance, analyzing propellants, overseeing the rework of non-conforming product, and learning the requirements of the ISO standard at it applies to Quality Control. The QCC will assist the Quality Assurance Director by investigating customer issues and reporting any quality problems to the management team.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
+ Must have the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
+ Must possess a degree in the sciences or equivalent work experience.
+ Knowledge of organic chemistry preferred.
+ Computer knowledge is required.
+ Organizational skills / Communication skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to sit in an office 60% of the time and walk outside on concrete and to other buildings in the plant 40% of the time. Must be able to climb ladders on trailers and rail cars. Must be available after hours by phone. Some travel is required.
Candidates must be able to pass background check, physical, alcohol and drug tests and all pre-employment requirements.
