About the Job:

Monitor assembly line operations to ensure adherence to standardized work Instructions, process parameters, and quality control plans.

Responsibilities:

Enforce Quality Compliance: Monitor shop floor operations across Body, Paint, and General Assembly to ensure strict adherence to Standardized Work Instructions, process sheets, and quality control plans.

Drive Built-In Quality (BIQ): Manage station-level quality gates, run Layered Process Audits (LPAs), and verify the operational integrity of error-proofing devices (Poka-Yokes) to stop defects at the source.

Lead Root Cause Analysis: Spearhead structured problem-solving initiatives (using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone diagrams) for internal scrap, line defects, or assembly reworks to prevent recurrence.

Monitor CKD Kit & Part Quality: Partner with Incoming Quality Control (IQC) to evaluate imported and localized CKD parts, tracking dimensional fitment, assembly challenges, and supplier performance anomalies.

Oversee Dimensional & Metrology Control: Review Body-in-White (BIW) geometry, CMM measurement trends, gap-and-flush tolerances, and torque-tightening data logs.

Manage Quality Holds & Non-Conformances: Isolate suspect material or vehicles immediately, lead Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and oversee containment actions.

Improve Quality Metrics: Track, analyze, and report critical plant metrics including First Time Quality (FTQ), Direct Run Rate (DRR%), scrap rates, CVA (Customer Vehicle Audit) and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Support Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production engineering and manufacturing teams on Kaizen projects, process capability studies (), and continuous quality enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing quality, process quality, customer quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Six Sigma Certification is preferred. (Yellow Belt or Green Belt).
  • IATF 16949 Background is preferred.
