ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer with 5+ years of industry experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in REST API testing, data models, backend and UI testing, and a comprehensive understanding of test management tools and test automation frameworks. This role requires hands-on experience with Selenium, XML, database schemas, and load/performance testing tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test plans
Perform thorough backend testing, including validation of database schemas and data integrity
Test RESTful APIs for functionality, performance, and security
Conduct UI testing across different browsers and platforms
Utilize Selenium for automated regression testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA
Conduct performance and load testing using appropriate tools
Work with XML/JSON data formats for integration and validation testing
Analyze system specifications and develop effective test strategies.
Perform load and performance testing using appropriate tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Work closely with developers and stakeholders to identify and troubleshoot issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong proficiency in REST API testing
Solid understanding of data models and relational databases
Experience with backend systems and UI testing
Hands-on experience with Selenium (Java/Python preferred)
Familiarity with XML, JSON, and SQL
Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
Strong experience writing and maintaining test cases
Experience working in Agile environments
Proficient with JIRA for issue tracking and project management
Nice to Have:
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Git, JIRA, and test management platforms.
Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms and environments
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
Preferred: Master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
